Crisis Team Campaign
As we all know, crisis teams in the UK are a real problem. A group of Avengerz are in the beginning stages of a project of this topic. So far, they aim to put together a booklet for tips of what to do when in crisis.
Other Work
●We are making a database of local support services in each county
●We have set up a mailing group to email similar organisations and people interested in our cause to update them on our projects and hopefully request that they spread the word
Eating Disorder Campaign
The group identified that some people were being refused treatment for their eating disorder until they got to a very dangerous weight. Others were being refused therapy and treatment until they reached normal weight. A group of Avengerz members are setting up a campaign to work for standard eating disorder referral criteria across the country, and the abolishment of weight as the main referral criteria.
Yorkshire Walk Out?
Yorkshire members are planning an event in which they intend to stage a peaceful protest in Leeds about mental health services. Watch this space.
#Louder Project
We are asking people to write down an experience they’ve had under mental health services on a piece of A4/3 paper and take a photo of themselves holding it up. They can email it to theavengerzfightback@gmail.com or upload it to the facebook group.
If you don’t want to use a photo, you can draw a picture of yourself with a speech bubble.
